The Greenfield Garden Club offers small gardening grants to groups and organizations in any town in Franklin County. We primarily give grants to those who are creating garden projects that actively involve children, as we hope this will lead to a lifetime enjoyment of gardening and a love of nature. Some examples of these organizations are schools, after school programs, summer school programs, libraries, recreation departments, and community gardens. We also consider other grant requests, such as those working with seniors, or a request for monetary help with a native plant project, or similar. (We are unable to provide design work or labor, as volunteers are in short supply.)
The process:
Anyone in Franklin County who works with children in projects that involve gardening, plant science, ecology, or any related subject matter, or someone who has another gardening project in mind, may submit a proposal to the Greenfield Garden Club. The proposal should not exceed 2 pages in length, and must include:
1. The project title, name of person submitting, contact information (email/phone), and school/organization name
2. Project details, including how it will be accomplished/maintained/supported
3. Number of community members that will directly benefit from this project (number of adults and number of children)
4. The projected cost (itemized) and whether or not you are seeking funding from other sources
GRANT DEADLINE: None. Grants will be accepted at any time of year. (Please limit your submissions to one per calendar year.)
